Climate Resilience Mastermind

 6 week course

For overwhelmed millennials who deeply care for the planet

WHAT IF

  • You felt a sense of centredness and peace within yourself, despite the overwhelming state of the planet.
  • You felt deeply connected to a  community of like-minded people who make you feel seen and heard in your level of passion for climate action (or…you no longer felt alone and isolated with your anger and overwhelm about the state of the world).
  • You felt confident in your role in the fight against climate change, and resilient to handle the  unknown future.

...without having to restructure your entire life, burn the system to the ground or move to the middle of a forest to eliminate your carbon footprint.

where the problem lies

Here’s how most people try to deal with their climate anxiety:

  • They hyperfocus on other parts of their life, dissociating themselves from the problem.
  • They end up with no capacity for other  relationships in their lives, focusing solely on anxiety spirals about the planet.
  • They give up their career and social life to dedicate everything they have to the cause.
  • They try to compartmentalize their feelings, and they don’t share their experience with anyone else in their lives.
  • They end up feeling paralyzed to take action, too overwhelmed by their emotions.

Eventually, these people give up on either the planet or themselves, and I totally get this! Feeling paralyzingly overwhelmed sucks. And knowing that you’re not able to save the planet on your own, or without burning larger systems to the ground can be soul-crushing….

But it DOES NOT have to be this way!

Hi, I'm Lauren.

I founded Climate Resilience Mastermind, and I know how it feels to be exhausted, overwhelmed, and isolated with anxiety about the climate, unsure of how to keep things in life afloat while taking aligned action to save the planet.

I grew up with a deep love for nature, learning how connected and alive I felt while outdoors.

It was only in my teens when I started to understand the dark future the planet is heading towards, and this filled me with a sense of dread.

Our beloved planet; diverse, awe inspiring, wild, and beautiful. The most precious beings, vulnerable species, ancient rainforests, all at the mercy of humanity.

I was in love with the planet, but I learned a hard lesson:

You can care as deeply for the planet as humanly possible, but unless you’re doing well mentally and feeling grounded, it’s not possible to take aligned action towards climate change (sustainably, over the long-term).

So I set off on a mission to learn everything I could about managing the mental aspect of climate change (avoiding anxiety spirals, existential dread, isolation, mental paralysis).

I learned through experience and in my research that having groups of deeply caring humans is a crucial part of the solution to mental suffering as a result of climate change. Throughout history, people have come together in times of disaster for a reason. Research shows time and again that social support is a key modifying factor to good quality of life.

In my search, I found a way to not only survive the mental burden of climate change, but to thrive. Everywhere I turn, I bump into people who are struggling with this same existential crisis. So I put together a program to bring people together to have meaningful connections with likeminded people, and learn the psychological tools needed to help them thrive.

That’s how “Climate Resilience Mastermind” was born!

This program works if you if you are:

An overwhelmed millennial who deeply cares for the environment, who identifies as HSP (highly sensitive person), empath, and/or healer

Advocates, volunteers, and people who work in the environmental/climate change sector

What you’ll get from the program

  • Proven systems & structure to accomplish your goals every single week.
  • Support with LIVE interactions each  week, as well resources and community support.
  • Me, as a facilitator who cares deeply for your inner fulfillment, purpose, mission, and holistic transformation, and uses their skills as a therapist to prioritize your needs and experience.
  • The inclusion of existential and spiritual elements in this program that acknowledges the profound existential questions and fears associated with climate change.
  • A commitment to addressing climate change. This is a deeply meaningful goal in my life, so I’m in this with you.
  • 100% results-driven - you get lifetime access to the material.
  • This is one of very few programs that focus on climate psychology in Canada, so I offer specialized knowledge and support.
  • A group of people with the same priorities as you, harnessing the power of community to make a difference.
  • Learn how to develop your interpersonal skills & mindset to overcome your mental blocks.
  • A holistic approach, through physiotherapy and somatic elements of climate psychology.

The Curriculum

Module 1

Vision for the Future

We’ll tap into your inner wisdom about how you’d like to feel in all parts of your life. We’re going to create a blueprint of relationship with self, family/friends, the earth and meaning making activities and how each of these areas will feel despite what’s going on in the world around you.

Module 2

Core Beliefs and Emotional Processing

What arises when you think about climate change, what are your core beliefs about climate change and are there any that need to shift? Much of the mental suffering that comes from climate change is a natural grief response to what’s happening in the world, but in this step, we explore the other aspect of mental suffering that’s much more malleable.

Module 3

Fear of Mortality

In this step, we explore the gripping fear of endings, uncovering the part that this existential anxiety might play in climate anxiety and reacquainting with how mortality interplays with awe and wonder while we’re on earth. Finding acceptance in endings in order to feel more peace in the present moment.

Module 4

Resilience and Hope

Tap into ancestral wisdom, psychoeducation about neuroplasticity and setting intentions to build resilience and hope for years to come.

Module 5

Finding Peace Through Climate Action

We’ll evaluate the current climate action that you’re taking, reflect on your values and natural tendencies and realign your actions if necessary, to find more personal peace in the face of climate change.

Module 6

How to Talk to Others About Climate Change

In this step, we’ll explore how to manage the extreme frustration and anger that arises when we witness people who are apathetic to climate change and explore research-based methods for successful conversations with people with opposing views on climate change and how to engage friends and family.
